However over the years it has become more competitive and there is now three trophy's available to play for at the group outings and throughout the playing season. As you will see below the three main trophy's currently available are the Handicap Trophy, Scratch Trophy and the Presidents Putter. The current selection of trophy's have been shared around the group members over the may years, however one of the original trophy's are still in existence and is still in the ownership of one of the groups founder members Irvine Lumsden.
The Original Handicap Trophy (1971)
The original trophy shown was presented to the group member who scored the lowest net score during the very first outing in 1971. The Scratch trophy was also played for during the early outing, however its whereabouts is not known. In 1971 the Handicap (Net) trophy was won by founder member Irvine Lumsden. He was allowed to keep that trophy and retained it in the condition shown. The recorded scores from this outing can be seen by clicking here
Presidents Putter
The Presidents Putter as it is now known was originally called the ?? Driving Iron and it was first played for in 197?. The current format allows all members to compete in an annual knockout matchplay competition. The player who looses each match awards a quality ball to the winner, and The trophy is presented to the outright winner of the competition.
